Chito Belchez, MSN, RN-BC is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. He joined the School of Nursing faculty in 2012.

He received both his Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Kansas, and currently is in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, with an antcipated 2016 completion date.

Belchez has worked in various roles in nursing education and staff development, from unit based clinical educator to clinical coordinator, and staff development and education specialist at University of Kansas Hospital and Saint Luke's Hospital. Prior to joining KU, he served as the director of the Education Department at Liberty Hospital. His clinical background is in progressive care and ambulatory surgery with pre and post anesthesia care.

Belchez received the 2010 Nurse Educator of the Year from the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) and and the Sigma Theta Tau Delta Chapter Leadership and Academic Excellence Graduate Student Award in 2007.    

He is currently teaching the following courses in the BSN and RN-BSN programs:

- Development of a Microsystem Leaderl

- Evolving Healthcare System

- Scholarly Inquiry for Quality Improvement Course.

- Summer Interprofessional Teaching Clinic Elective
