Lorraine Buchanan, MSN, RN, is a clinical Instructor in the undergraduate program at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She was a member of the KU undergraduate faculty as they designed and implemented a concept-based curriculum in 2011. Buchanan was also part of the team that chose the concepts and exemplars for the major nursing Health and Illness courses.

She has presented at concept- based teaching conferences to share her work on conceptual learning. She co-teaches two of the Health and Illness nursing courses and a course called Communicating and Managing Health Care information in the curriculum. Her clinical background is pediatrics and maternity.
