Moya Peterson is a clinical assistant professor at the KU School of Nursing and teaches in the family nurse practitioner program. She also is a family nurse practitioner at the KU School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine.

Peterson has worked as a staff nurse at Children's Mercy Hospital & Clinics and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Her research and clinical interests are in primary care across the lifespan, diabetes mellitus and the primary care of handicapped (physically and mentally) children and adults. Peterson is currently in the PhD program at the KU School of Nursing. Her dissertation emphasis involves families with adult Down Syndrome children.

Peterson has had publications printed in national and state journals, and has presented at continuing education meetings on a variety of topics relevant to nurses in the state of Kansas.
