Student Recognition and Hooding Ceremony Event Information

On Tuesday, May 11, KU Medical Center leadership announced a decision to shift student recognition ceremonies to a completely virtual environment. KU School of Nursing's event celebrating our 2020 and 2021 graduates will take place at the previously scheduled time, Saturday, May 15, at 12 p.m., and all attendees and guests will participate virtually.

Cap and Gown and Announcement Orders

All students and faculty who participate in this event wear a cap and gown. Students purchase theirs from KU Bookstore at KU Medical Center on level G of Orr-Major Building. You can purchase your tassel online from the KU Bookstore.

University of Kansas Commencement

The University of Kansas Commencement ceremony will honor 2021 and 2020 graduates of the University of Kansas with two separate ceremonies. The class of 2021 will be recognized on Sunday, May 16, and the class of 2020 will be recognized on Sunday, May 23. Student pre-registration is required, and each registered student may have a limited number of guests in attendance. To obtain tickets to any of the events on the Lawrence campus, students should call the ticket office at 785-864-3141.
